OLED- and OPV-technology together for an innovative façade module prototype
The manufacturing of individually designed organic light-emitting diodes and solar cells and their combination can be realized in the near future. The European project ManuCloud (distributed Cloud product specification and supply chain manufacturing execution infrastructure) successfully experimented this approach. As result the project partners Heliatek, Fraunhofer COMEDD, Tridonic Dresden and GSS Gebäude-Solarsysteme GmbH presented a demonstrator of a façade module, which combines the OLED- and OPV-technology.
The objective of the ManuCloud project was the development of a service-oriented IT environment as basis for the next level of manufacturing networks by enabling production-related inter-enterprise integration down to shop floor level. Industrial relevance was guaranteed by involving industrial partners from the organic photovoltaic, organic lighting and automotive supply industries.
Information about the ManuCloud project can be found directly on the project website: http://www.manucloud-project.eu/index.php?id=186#c489
Pioneering Perovskite Photovoltaic modules: Saule Technologies and Solliance
In just a few years of using perovskites in solar cells, their laboratory efficiency has essentially become comparable to that of the leading photovoltaic technologies such as crystalline silicon, CdTe and CIGS. Start up such as Saule Technologies and company as Solliance are investing in this material to develop innovative photovoltaic modules.
SAULE’s main goal is to develop the technology which can integrate perovskites with the existing products. Thanks to the new generation powering both industry and every day-use product solutions gain innovative and pioneering features.
Instead Solliance demonstrates a record 10% aperture area power conversion efficiency for its up-scaled thin-film perovskite photovoltaic modules. The efficiency was measured on an aperture area of 168 cm2. Twenty-five cells were serial connected through an optimized P1, P2, P3 interconnection technology. The PV module was realized on a 6×6 inch2 glass substrate using industrial scale-able slot die coating in combination with laser patterning. Further, the PV module was packaged by applying a flexible barrier using a lamination process.
More information about other pioneering Perovskite PV modules are available in the database.
STL Inverters: technical solutions to guarantee excellent efficiency
STL inverters have been developed using carefully selected technical solutions to guarantee excellent efficiency from a lightweight, compact package. A wide string voltage range and Selco Energy new SmartTrack algorithm allow STL inverters to carry on functioning at full power even in poor sunlight. STL inverters are also available in versions with 2 MPPT trackers. This makes PV field configuration as flexible as possible by permitting strings to be set up with different azimuths, tilts and dimensions.
STL inverters are products of the Italian company Selco Energy. Detailed Information of STL-200-400 and STL-420-620 are available in the PV module category.
PERC: innovative technology for Thin Film PV Modules
Solaxess SA is a Swiss company which deploys 3 patents from CSEM, a non-profit Swiss research and technology organization, to manufacture and commercialize a nanotechnology based film for the use in Photovoltaic modules.
The film is integrated in the PV module during its production by the PV manufacture in order to render a mirror-like surface white, uniqueness in the market, or all other color desired. This feature is essential to develop active facades in the BIPV field.
The aim is to provide more options to the market needs of photovoltaic products specifically designed to be integrated in the buildings (BIPV). More information about the PERC technology can be found in the PV module session of our database or in the SOLAXESS SA website.
PowerFLEXTM CIGS flexible: easy installation thin film for your rooftops
PowerFLEXTM CIGS flexible thin film Building Applied Photovoltaic (BAPV) modules are easy, quick and economic for commercial and industrial rooftops.
No racking system is required when bonding these modules with a simple peel and stick process to clean TPO and EPDM membranes, coated steels (such as standing seam metal roof), and elastomeric-coated modified bitumen. This installation process provides high wind resistance and no penetrations for roofs with at least a two degree slopes, curved roofs and roofs that can only handle a light load.
PowerFLEXTM CIGS are provided with a range from 90 to 300 Watts. You can read the PowerFLEXTM in the CIGS category of our database.
